First Time Problem

Check 1 of 3: Verify Your Browser Version

The following browsers & versions have the ability to display Indian fonts. Make sure your browser falls into one of those categories.

If you Don't know which browser are you using? If you see 'Communicator' as the second menu option from right, then you are using Netscape. Choose Help menu option and choose 'About Communicator...' menu option. Click on Back option to see this page again.

Otherwise, choose 'Help' menu option and choose 'About Internet Explorer...' menu option. If you do not see it, then you are not using Internet Explorer.

Otherwise, download latest versions of Netscape or Internet Explorer .

Check 2 of 3: Verify Dynamic Font Options

Netscape Users:

Check the dynamic fonts option in Netscape. Open the Edit menu, and choose Preferences. If Appearance has a plus sign (+) next to it, click the + Under Appearance, choose Fonts Make sure this box is checked:
Use document specified fonts, including dynamic fonts.

Also, make sure 'Style Sheets' are enabled.

While you are in the 'Preferences' dialog box, click on 'Advanced' option, and make sure 'Enable style sheets' option is checked as shown in the picture.

Internet Explorer Users:

Open Tools menu and choose 'Internet Options...'. Click on 'Security' tab page and make sure the security is set to 'Medium' as shown in the picture. Otherwise, use the slide and set it to medium.

Also, you may want to double-check whether the font download is enabled or not. While you are in the 'Security' tab page, click on 'Custom Level...', scroll down and make sure 'Font Download' option is enabled as shown in the picture.

Check 3 of 3: Final Check

Make sure the font encoding is set to 'User Defined'.

Netscape Users:

Choose 'View' menu option, then choose 'Character Set' and make sure 'User Defined' option is turned on. If not, select that option.

Internet Explorer Users:

Choose 'View' menu option, then choose 'Encoding' and make sure 'User Defined' option is turned on. If not, select that option. If you do not see 'User Defined' then select 'More' and you will find 'User Defined' option.

Finally

Force the page to reload.

Visit a non Indian language page, say, visit, http://www.mypurohith.com which is by default English.

Netscape Users:

Choose 'Edit' menu option and choose 'Preferences' option. Click on 'Navigator' option and click on 'Clear History' page located in 'History' section. Click on OK button and select the language you are trying to see. Once the page loads completely, reload the page by holding down the SHIFT key and clicking on the 'Reload' button on the toolbar.

Internet Explore Users:

Choose 'Tools' menu option and choose 'Internet Options...' option and click on 'Delete Files' button. In the dialog box, make sure to select 'Delete All Offline Content' option and click on OK button. Once done, click on OK button.

Now, select the language you are trying to see. Once the page loads completely, reload the page by holding down the SHIFT key and clicking on the 'Reload' button on the toolbar.

Sudden Font Problem

Click in the Address area/ Location area, copy the address, and close the browser. Start the browser again and go to the page you were reading earlier by pasting the copied text in the address bar/ location bar and hitting the Enter key.

Font Download

Step 1:

If you have Unzip program

If you do NOT have Unzip program

Download Telugu font and Hindi font and unzip it into a temporary directory. Click on Telugu font and Hindi font with right mouse button, and select 'Save Target As' (Internet Explorer users) or 'Save Link As' (Netscape users) and save it to a temporary directory.

Step 2:

Select Start > Settings > Control Panel and double-click on 'Fonts' icon and choose File > 'Install New Font' menu option and point it to the downloaded file.
