3rd ANUVAKA (NAMAKAM)
- Nama
ssaha manaya nivyadhina avyadi ninam pataye Namah |
Sahamanaya = putting
down the enemies and pardouring the mistakes of his devotees;
Nivyadhine = By his release of arrows puncturing the bodies of
enemies; pataye = leader; Namah = to such Rudra Salutations.
Salutions to Rudra
who will insult the enemies, Maniya time he will make the enemies
afraid of him, the head of the armies who will rule the roost every
where.
The benefit of all
the mantras i.e. (one to twelve) in this Anuvaka is curing of
disease.

kakubhaya nisangine stenanam pataye namah |
Kakubhaya = with
tremendous tricks; Nisangine = Rudra holding sword; Namah =
Salutation; Stenanam = Secret stealers; pataye = leader; To such
Rudra; Namah = Salutation.
Rudra is the primary
person holding Sword leads the secret thieves. Rudra out of
pleasures takes upon such attires. To him we salute.

Nisangina Isuthimate Taskaranam pataye namah |
Nisangine = Holding
the arrow in the hand ready to release through the bow; Esudhimate =
Adorned the container of the arrows at his back; To such Rudra;
Namah = Salutation; Taskaranam = To the habitual stealers; pataye =
leader; To such Rudra; Namah = Salutations.
With a bow in his
hand ready to release the arrow, having the garnet possessing the
arrows at his back, the ruler of the stealers. Salutations of
you.

Vancate Parivancate stayunam pataye namah |
Vancate = Decietful
in the affairs of his owner; parivancate = In the same way deceiving
in every transaction; To such Rudra; Namah = Salutation, Stayunam =
behaving very close to his master, stealing his money without the
knowledge of others; pataye = leader; to such Rudra Namah =
Salutation.
Being very close to
his masters, yet during the transactions of buying and sellings
manages to steal money without the knowledge of any body and
deceiving in every way, coming from far off places, brake open the
doors during the night, pretending as their own men, either in the
night or day manages to steal. To such Rudra we offer our
prostrations.

Nicerave paricara yaranyanam pataye namah |
Nicerave = Moving
Several times and ways for stealing and possessing such attitude,
paricaraya = only with the sole object of stealing; To such Rudra;
Namah = Salutation; Aranyanam = To the thieves in the forest; pataye
= Lord; To him Rudra; Namah = Salutation.
Awaiting for an
opportune time to steal in his master’s house and moving restlessly
for the same, in the markets also in uneven paths with a mind to
steal, walks here and there and in the forests obstructing the
passages and stealing from the travelers, the guide of such persons
OH! Rudra my salutations to you.

Srukavibhyah = with
the help of yantra protecting life; Jighagum sadbhyah = desirous of
teasing the pranis, To those Rudras; Namah = Salutation; Musnatam =
To those who steals the paddy from the ripe crops; pataye = The
leader Rudra to him; Namah = Salutation.
Salutations to Rudra
who acts as a head of those who protects their bodies with diamonds,
robs the persons by killing them. Serving as cultivators to their
masters and steals their crops paddy etc.

simadbhyonaktam caradbhyayahprakruntanam pataye namah |
Asimadbhyah = Holding
swords in the hands; Naktam Carabhyah = During the night travels
like Rakshasas; To such Rudras; Namah = Salutation; Prakruntanam =
By dreadful acts only the thieves who steals money; pataye = The
leader Rudra; To him Namah = Salutations.
During the nights Men
moving with swords and these people are being harmed by the
robberor. Further murdering the people and stealing their money and
for both those type of people is the head Rudra. To him we
salute.

usnisine giricaraya kulumcanam pataye namah |
Usnisne = Residing in
the villages, adorning big head gears as big persons, stealing the
wealth of the helpless, Giricaraya = living amidst mountains and
forests having a sturdy well built body. Stealing the property of
others; Kulukuncanam = To the persons who will steal houses and
lands; pataye = leader; To such Rudra; Namah = Salutation.
The Thieves having
head gear covered with cloth robes, stealing the clothes of the
persons cutting wood on the mountains usurping house sites and
cultivable lands. To such Rudra we prostrate.

Isumadbhyo dhanva Vibhyaschavo namah |
Isumadbhyah = For the
welfare of the world taking up the bow and arrows in the war;
Dhanvavibhyascha = Holding the bow and arrows; vah = for the sake of
Rudra Murtis; Namah = Salutation.
Holding bow and
arrows in the hand To such Rudra’s we salute.

Atanvanebhyah pratidadhane bhyaschavo namah |
Atanvatebhyah = As
the twisted rope in the bow; pratidhane bhyah scha = In the way of
releasing arrows from the bow; Vah = For the sake of Rudras; Namo
Namah = Salutation.
Salutations to Rudras
who keep their bow and arrows ready for release.

Ayacchadbhyo Visrujad bhyaschavo namah |
Ayacchadbhyah =
Attracting the twisted rope; Visrujadbhyas cha = Having attracted
releasing the arrows. Vah Namo Namah = To them Salutations.
Salutations to Rudras
who are advancing with the bow strings being drawn to release the
arrows.

syadbhyo Vidhyadbhyaschavo namah |
Asydbhyah = The
released arrows from the bow reaches as per the destination;
Vidhydbhyah cha = Such released arrows with sure Concentration
touches them. Salutations to such Rudras.
Prostrations to
Rudras who releases the arrows with precision to reach their targets
and make it definitely attack the targets.

Asinebhyah = To the
seated ones; Sayanebhyah cha = Also for the resting Rudra murtis;
Namah = Salutations.

Svapadbhyah = for the
sleeping; Jagradbhyah cha = For the awakened Rudra Murtis; Namah =
Salutations.
Namasti stadhbhyo
dhavadbhyascha vo namo namah |
Tistadbhyah = for
those standing; Dhavadbhyah cha = Those running Salutations to such
Rudra murtis.
Nama ssabhabhya
sabhapati bhyaschavo namah |
Sabhabhyah = Having
the forms of groups of communities; Sabhapatibhyah cha = Being the
chairman of such groups of assemblies. To such Rudras we offer
Salutations.
Namo Ashvebhyo
shvapati bhyaschavo namah ||
Ashvebhyah =
Possessing the form of horses; Ashva patibhyah cha = Being the
Masters of the horses, Salutations to such Rudras.
Salutations to Rudras
who are sitting, lying, sleeping, awakening, standing, running,
present in the meeting and to the Chairman of the assembly, in the
form of horses and horse riders.
