First Anuvaka
- Akarne
krisne dhanusijvalantim Devimisum bhasvati sanda dhanam
|
Dhyayenma hesham maha niya vesam devyayutam yodhatanum
yuvanam ||
Sri Rudra has to be meditated as one who
adorned the form of a vibrant warrior with his Devi, appearing with
his bow known by the name pinaka as releasing the burning
arrows.

Ishvisva salamkritabhyam bhujabhyam
Shukrakaram
stuyamanam Suraighaih ||
Sri Shambhu murti who is followed by his wife
parvati adorning with his bow and arrows duly, ascends the chariot
with a smile, while groups of Devas are extolling him. Such form of
Shambhu has to be contemplated.

One has to meditate upon Sri Shambhu murti who
has endowed with smiling face, having candrakala as the jewel on his
head, known also as Gangadhara, accompanied by parvati, possessing
three eyes, decorated with ash, having serpent as his ornament; the
self existent, pashupati.

Devam puratraya vina
shanamandahasam,
Daityaninda dhakshu macale svara chapa

Dhyayetpurarimatha bhumiratha diruddham ||
Let Sri Rudra be meditated as one who ascended
the form of Chariot on earth with the idea of annihilating the evil
Rakshasas. He held Mount meru the king of mountains as hisbow,
making wide exhibitions with the gait of brave hero with great
determination and firm conviction furthering advances.

dhyaddvevam Trilochanam ||
Sri Shambhu has to be meditated as one who
adorned half moon on his head and sported the serpent as his
yajnopavita (the sacred thread), illuming like burning fire, with
the tree eyes.

Bhrajamanava pusam shucismitam
Chanda didhi
makhandita dhyutim
Chinta yenmuni Sahasra sevitam ||
The Bhagavan with his pure and tranquil smile
resides behind Surya Mandala. He is ever excellently brilliant. He
is being worshipped by thousands of sages and saints. With his
golden colour and piercing cosmic rays he is glowing and pretty
shinning. He is radiating his rays. Let such Bhagavan be prayed.

Dhyayetsimha sana sinamumaya
sahitam shivam ||
Sri Shambhu with the body illumining like the
moon in the winter spreading cool light seated on his throne along
with Uma Devi is fit to be meditated.

koti prakasha madipta dahanadhama (murdha) Nam
Bhisana
bhujangabhusam dhyaye dvividhayudham Rudram ||
Sri Rudra has to be meditated as the person whose
emitting brilliance is like the emerging light one crore of Suns put
together, his frontal face happens to be the shelter for the
dazzling fire, fierce and dreadful snakes adorned as ornaments and
holding different types of weapons by him.

manu smaredbha vanya saha jagatam pitaram pinakapinim ||
Isvara has to be prayed as the creator Bhagavan
with his side having pinaka the trisul in his hand. His head
contained the pollens of the flowers projecting red lit light due to
the decoration of garlands by several bodies of Devas.

Mukta langkrita sarvanga mindu gangadharam haram

Dyayetkalpa taror mule sama sinam sahomaya ||
Sri Rudra has to be meditated as one who is
adorned with pearl garlands allover his body having ganga on his
head as gangadhara and candra seated below the kalpavriksha.
Third Anuvaka (Prayer)

youvana sampanna murteva vana devata
Puspita shoka punnaga
sahakara shishupamah
The one who resembles the God of the forests
possessing beautiful attractive young stature coupled with the
growth of fine bunch of flowers with its fragrance of Ashoka and
punnaga looking like a well nurtured calf.
- Panchavinshati
Nakshatra mayurakruta shekharah
Akalanka sharaccandra purna
bimba samananah ||
Aged twenty five years, adorned with the peacock
hairs as tuft on his head. Having unblemished face resembling the
full blossomed moon of winter season.

baddha kapardanto vasanascharma komalam
Savyapa savya vidhruta
kruta mala vibhusitah ||
Having on one side folded tuft of hair with Ganga
and wearing soft skin of the tiger and tender flowers of garlands
hanging evenly and unevenly decorated.

kadambapunjena Nabhidesha pralamphina |
Ajangha prekshan iyena
prakekshani yo pi shatrubhih ||
Right from the umbilical region to the knees
possessing red garlands hanging and even making the enemies admire
his beauty.

charusarvangi vanyalankara bhusita
Adarsha murti shobhanam
vanyanamiva Nirmala ||
Similar to him Devi is well decorated with
several of the garden creepers and foliage and flowers reflecting
like mirror all the glamour of the forest and looking very calm and
graceful.

haste dhanurdatva sharamekam cha nirmalam
Dvitiyamam samalambya
shistam vamena bahuna
Keeping Devi holding bow in one of her hand and
one inactive shaft in his Second hand and other container with
arrows on left shoulder.

He is being fanned by her with a cluster of the
fresh bunch flowers with tender leaf branches several times.

Evam bhuto maha Tejah
kiratavapu rishvarah ||
He is proceeded by the proud children moving
forward and the pleasing and lovable dogs accompanying, possessing
this type of cruel tribal henchman’s personality such Lord, the
precepter of the world is being worshipped.
Fourth Anuvaka
Bhasmoddhulita
sarvangam jatamandala manditam
|
Dhyayeddevam vrisaruddham ganesvara yutam haram ||
Every part of the body is smeared with ash
(Bhasma), the circled hair tufts as ornaments, accompanied with
Ganapati riding the chariot of ox such Bhagavan has to be
prayed.
